We go to Hongkong again!!!

Since 1999, we go to performance traveling again to Hongkong. We appear on the 2 day event in City Hall and Live Gig at Fringe Club. It was possible to have received aid with the hotel charges from Hongkong government. Everybody's please come to the cheering. �@

We appear on the event on Respect for the Aged Day

Mondaynight appears on "MUSIC ON TAMA vol.1" which is hosted on the Sekido public hall VITA hall in front of the Seisekisakuragaoka station in Monday on September 18th. It is this first event which Artist Link Tama(ALT) sponsors and the Monday works in the opening of this event in the night. It thinks that we want to do a delightful performance. Please, you come to the cheering!

We fixed the new member of the trombone

As for the matter of the member recruitment of the trombone to have taken by making hang a recruitment on each area, the formal member decided gradually in the favor. The name of the recruit is Haruka Suzuki. She is to be inexperienced about JAZZ but worked for the active practice participation and the catch up. Please, cheer her activity.

The contents are the collection of a work of the concept of performing altogether the music to which a title begins from "M" in an original arrangement. This is a compilation of the plan promotion called M-Project over for five years. The arrangement of trumpeter Shinji Okano blew new lives into the works of Herbie Hancock or John Coltrane.

We also appear on Shinjuku "J" which is the palace of jazz this year.
The hall is planning 18:31 on Sat., October 4, and commencement of a performance is planning x3 during 19:15 or 45 minutes stage.

CD manufacture smooth !

2003 are a year of the 30th anniversary of our formation.
Now, we commemorate this and are manufacturing CD.
We recorded 13 music on the both days on September 20 and 21st in the studio of PONY CANYON.
The CD here is planning the release on November 29 when our 30th recital is performed.
When it is called the contents, it is the compilation by the number of the all-songs original arrangement which called M-Project and has been cultivated over during several years.
Please expect.

Makoto Sasaki Returns

It was decided that Makoto Sasaki, a preceding lead alto saxophone player who had left Mondaynight according to many situations temporarily, returns as a tenor sax player.Although he probably has not yet done arrangement of a feeling, a return of the member who was familiar many years is glad for us. Please look forward to his activity.

Mrs. Kimiko Sasaki who was a preceding pianist passed away

We have to carry out very regrettable information to you.
Mrs. Kimiko Sasaki (maiden-name Ohya) who played an active part as pianists during three years from 1998 to 2001 passed away by March 30 for the spine neoplasm.
With preceding lead alto Makoto Sasaki who is the husband, she had left Mondaynight in 2001 for the struggle against disease.
All members believed that she showed an again fine smile. The only help thing that her last moment was peaceful.
We pray her bliss of the dead.

We determined the officer in the 2003 fiscal year

In the new-year general meeting on January 18, we determined the officer in the current fiscal year.
Although most officers were remaining in office, Inoue, a newcomer, becomes an accounts person in charge, and reports the thing which Suzuki of former accounts was inaugurated as the sub concertmaster.

The guest of our recital of this year was selected as Mr. Tatsuya Takahashi(Ts)

We also perform the 28th recital to 11/30 (sat) in the Shinbashi Yakult hall this year. Appearing on Mr. Tatsuya Takahashi(Ts) who went together also as for the Tanabata concert on the other day, and obtaining as this guest, was determined. He is the man of the highest peak in domestic as a band leader , and as a tenor player. It is pleasure pleasing.It is pleasure pleasing.

Two sax players acceded to our orchestra

Although two sax players were absent over the long period of time, the formal member determined at last. Alto sax is Mr.Hosiji and tenor sax is Mr.Emura. Since we carried two persons' photograph in this site, please have a look by all means. You who were worried about this affair, thank you very much. Moreover, we announce you that Suzuki who was taking charge of 3rd. alto became lead alto's charge formally.

Successor pianist determination!

It is Ms. Hideka Inoue (The graduate of the Chuo Univ. Swing Crystal orch.) who had helped us several times as extra previously. Probably, a style happy at the natural posture backed by positive technology will blow a new trend into Mondaynight. Please expect her activity.

Information of members withdrawal

We have to tell a regrettable thing.
Retirement of the three following persons who played an active part over many years as a member of Mondaynight was decided. It is really regrettable although an unavoidable situation is in each.

However, they are our friends forever. We expect that the days come which can enjoy a performance together again with them.

Our concert of this year was also able to be supported on 470 or more visitors, and was able to be ended safely. Mr.Kazuhara who is a guest of this year played the trumpet of a very rich tone. It is two more years to the 30th concert. Please aid us from now on.
